What Rampart's Editing and Formatting Includes
Rampart doesn’t skimp by having different “levels” of editing! Just $5 / 250 words (or $0.02 / word) includes grammar, spelling, punctuation, verb tense, word choice, sentence structure, and style. We also ensure that headings, tables, and figures are correctly formatted. We edit using the track changes function so you remain in control of the final version.
For an extra $1 / 250 words of text, we can also verify that your in-text citations meet style guidelines and cross-check them against the reference list. Rampart can also format your reference list to APA style or to other common styles (Chicago, Harvard, Vancouver, etc.). The rate for formatting references is $6 / 250 words. Thus, full editing and formatting of your text costs only $6 / 250 words, or $0.024 / word!
We can also create an automated Table of Contents that you can update as your text changes. This costs $30, and will include Levels 1-3 in APA7 or Levels 1-2 in APA6.
For professionals (but not students), we also do deeper developmental editing, including shrinking a grant application or article to meet a word count limit, at a $50/hour rate.
Note: Rampart’s APA editing does not address deeper issues with overall structure, repetitiveness, conceptual confusion, methodology, plagiarism, or sufficiency of arguments. Such issues are best addressed through our interactive coaching service. We also do not verify sources or research missing information.

Other services may charge less for a bare-bones edit; we are too perfectionist to be able to fix only some problems while ignoring others. Because we are a small business, we don’t have management overhead. Your editing fee is earned by your editor, who will be a published American scholar with a social science Ph.D. from an R1 university.
Next Steps for Rampart to Begin Editing Your Work
To begin, email us with your deadline, approximate word count, and when we could expect to begin the work. Careful editing takes time. While we may be able to turn a short project around quickly, a week is a more realistic estimate for a large project. After we receive your manuscript, we will verify the word count, confirm that we can meet your deadline, and set the price. Once you make your payment on PayPal, we will begin the work.
